Fermented Pickles/ Brine Pickles
Fermented with sea salt. Super easy recipe, that you can change up to your liking.
Great way to get probiotic beneficial bacteria from food and not a supplement.
2 T sea salt into 1 quart filtered water, not iodized
1 T mustard seed, or ground mustard seed
3 garlic cloves
3-4 Bay leaves ( you can use oak leaves, or fresh grape leaves
1-2 cucumbers
Cut cucumber, do not put head of cucumber in the jar.
Oak leaves, bay leaves or fresh grape leaves will keep your pickles crunchy
Make your sea salt water. Put in spices, garlic cloves at bottom, place cucumbers in jar, push down. Add a space at top, to avoid water spillage.
Other spice options: cloves, coriander, dill, pepper - use tablespoon
Leave on counter for 3 days. Taste. If not sour enough leave for another day, taste again.
Once ready to eat. Refrigerate.
