WHERE TO FIND QUALITY CURCUMIN AND TUMERIC POWDER
JARROW FORMULAS: Jarrow Formulas Curcumin 95, Provides Antioxidant Support, 500 mg, 120 Veggie Caps
CURAMED ‘’ I found CuraMed brand of Curcumin at a store similar to Sprouts back in May when my Sed Rate sky rocketed to 80 from a normal, zero pain level. I'd been working 60+ hour weeks for nearly 3 months, got a virus and went on 10 days antibiotics. A week later at ra appt, got the Ser result. Doc prescribed low dose 2 month supply of prednisone. No way I wanted to go back on that. Added the curcumin, 750mg 2x day to existing supplements and started drinking more water. I did also get more strict about diet, no bread, no dairy and limited sugar to max 3g. However I had changed the diet for 3 weeks prior to adding the curcumin and was still struggling. Curcumin made the difference. 2 months later, Sed rate was 9. This brand is available online. Highly recommend it.’’

Understanding Turmeric: The anti-inflammatory action of Curcumin, C21H20O6 , (the active ingredient of Turmeric) works by inhibiting (and slowing down) the body's production of pro-inflammatory signaling compounds called eicosanoids (which include prostaglandins like PGE2). Eicosanoids are a key ingredient to create inflammation and other immune responses. Through a chemical bonding process, Curcumin slows the body's production of eicosanoids (to include prostaglandins), bringing eicosanoid levels back to non-inflammation (normal) levels, resulting in an overall reduction of inflammation. Note that inflammation is the result of the COX-2 enzyme bonding with the body’s stress hormone cortisol to create prostaglandin (an eicosanoid) that relaxes muscle to allow white blood cells (inflammation). The bonding between cortisol and COX-2 (the inflammation trigger enzyme) initiates the metabolism of arachidonic acid to prostanoids (such as prostaglandins like PGE2) that have two double bonds. Curcumin (from Turmeric) can disrupt, and ultimately reduce the frequency of (two double bond) bonding between cortisol and enzyme COX-2, resulting in reduced inflammation. If the frequency of bonding between cortisol and COX-2 is disrupted by the presence of Curcumin, inflammation should decrease. In comparison, Prednisone, temporarily eliminates, the bonding of cortisol and COX-2 as Prednisone (synthetic cortisol) replaces cortisol in the body; Curcumin does not replace cortisol, but simply disrupts some of the bonding between cortisol and COX-2 (temporarily). Always consult your physician before starting any type of herbal or other medicinals. By Matthew Haufman Thanks to Antoinette Larie Bailey for this information
Turmeric the full scoop ‘’It turns out, the effects of curcumin aren’t linear. There’s some evidence that at both low and excessive levels, it stops becoming anti-inflammatory and actually becomes either pro-inflammatory or immune-suppressive. At low concentrations, curcumin increases proinflammatory cytokine production and enhances antibody responses; note that this could be beneficial for helping us fight infection but detrimental in some situations like autoimmune disease. At very high concentrations, curcumin suppresses the immune system, even causing DNA damage to mucosa cells and lymphocytes.’’ ~ https://www.thepaleomom.com/turmeric-full-scoop/
